This tour to Rainbow Mountain Peru (Vinicunca) the famous 7 colored mountain near Cusco leaves early in the morning to ensure plenty of time to arrive at the mountain.

Treks up Rainbow Mountain take you through stunning landscapes with glaciers, snowcapped mountains and crystal clear rivers and lakes nearby and of course the incredible views of Rainbow Mountain itself. 

Be sure to charge up your camera as the colors of the Rainbow Mountain will leave in awe!

You will be picked up from your accommodation at around 4.30/5.00 am and start making your way first to Arco (on the route to Puno)  then eventually getting to the Checacupe district (2 hour journey).

Then we will continue to Pitumarca and a number of small villages until we reach the community of Hanchipata-Quesuno (another 1.5 hours).
Here we will have a good breakfast and get ready to head towards the rainbow!

During our hike towards Rainbow Mountain  we will enjoy the views of numerous mountains around as well as of the Ausangate glacier, and we will be able to witness up close the local wildlife and camelids in their natural environment.

The approach trek lasts for about 3 hours until we get to the stunning landscape of Vinicunca (Rainbow Mountains). Here we will have about 45 minutes to relax and take amazing pictures of this natural wonder.We then hike back to the starting point of the trek and we will have a well-deserved lunch. We then return to Cusco arriving at approximately 19.00 (dropoff at San Francisco square).

You can decide to rent a horse on the day upon arrival if you don't feel like hiking all the way to Rainbow Mountain (approximately 30 USD - pay on site).
